ROCHESTER:Harla Jeanne Dobrinz, 64, of Rochester, died Tuesday morning January 14th 2014, at her home. She was born February 1st 1949 at the Itasca Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids MN to Harold and Ethel (Walsh) Welte.Harla graduated from Bigfork High School in 1967 where she was a cheerleader, played clarinet in band and taught Sunday school at church. She attended Itasca Community College and then moved to Rochester to become a medical secretary at the Mayo Clinic. On April 23rd 1977 Harla married Jason Dobrinz at First Presbyterian Church in Rochester. To them two children were born, Rick and Stacie. After 35 years of service Harla retired from Mayo Clinic and spent her time at home crocheting, knitting and sewing crafts under the name "Swamp Buggy Creations" which she sold at craft shows in the Rochester area, Bigfork, MN and during open house events in her daughter's home. Harla also loved photography and created a beautifully impressive collection of photographs over the years, which she took pride in sharing with family and friends. She also enjoyed camping, playing bingo, music, cooking and baking. Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Troop Leader and Tee Ball Coach--she did it all. Harla was a member of Rochester Covenant Church, volunteered often in the children's nursery and always loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Jason; a son, Rick Dobrinz of Rochester; a daughter, Stacie (Mathew) Mack of Rochester; three grandchildren, Maya, Riley and Aubrey Mack; two brothers, James (Sandy) Welte and Richard Welte; two sisters, Norane (Gerald) Stejskal and Patricia Welte; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.Harla was preceded in death by her parents, step parents and grandparents. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday January 19, 2014 at Rochester Covenant Church.Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until time of service.A private family burial will be held at a later date.
