Gordon A. Cyrus

ROCHESTER Gordon A. Cyrus, 91, died on Friday, June 5, 2015 at his home in Rochester. Gordon was born in Grand Rapids, MN on March 13, 1924 to John and Alma (Ellefson) Cyrus.He married Marian Perry on November 15, 1945 in Minneapolis.They were married for 67 years.Gordon was a World War II Navy Veteran and had an extended career with Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company (now Cliffs Natural Resources) until he retired. Gordon is survived by three children, Leslie Kaye, of Wilsonville, OR, Larry Cyrus (Joy) of Fountain City, WI, and Dennis Cyrus (Julie) of Farmington Hills, MI; two daughters in law, Judi Cyrus of Goldendale, WA, and Colleen Cyrus of Davis, IL; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.We will all miss his sense of humor and kindness. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marian; three brothers, Vernon, Harold and Irvin; sister Elaine Johnson, and three sons, Gene Cyrus of Goldendale, WA, Jeffrey Cyrus of Davis, IL, and Kim Cyrus of La Crescent, MN. A Celebration of Gordons life will be held at a later date (to be announced).
