Gladys Leona Peterson

ROCHESTER -Gladys L. Peterson, 101, passed away April 1, 2012 at the Charter House in Rochester. Gladys was born in Rochester on November 29, 1910 to Otto and Caroline (Jondahl) Blasing.She graduated from Rochester High School in 1928 and Rochester Jr. College in 1931.Gladys has lived in Chicago, St. Paul, and Cleveland, and worked as a legal secretary.She worked for Dr. Hench, Dr. Slocum, and Dr. Barker.Gladys was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, Rochester Sr. Citizens, and Zumbro Lutheran Church. Gladys is survived by two children, Thomas (Gloria) Peterson, of Portland, OR, and Janet Gutzmann, of Northfield, MN; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Gladys is preceded in death by a husband, Carl R. Peterson; a son, Gerald Peterson; a husband, Obert P. Peterson; a great-grandson, Andrew and three brothers, Harold, Cyril, and Vincent. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00am Monday, April 9, 2012 at Charter House Chapel, 211 2nd St. NW. Rochester. There will be a private interment at Grandview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to American Foundation for the Blind, The Salvation Army, or Zumbro Lutheran Church.
