Gilbert C. Schroeder

Rochester, MN:Gilbert C. Schroeder, 90, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Golden Living Center West in Rochester. Gilbert was born on June 2, 1923 in Hebron, ND to Otto and Marie (Winter) Schroeder.Gilbert moved with his family to a farm north of Rochester and later they moved to a farm by Kasson. On June 10, 1950 Gilbert married Maxine Zank at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester.Gilbert farmed for many years and after retiring the couple moved to Rochester where he worked for Arnold's Supply and Channel One.Gilbert enjoyed traveling to Arizona and California to visit with family.He was a member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church. Survivors include his special nephew and niece, Johnny and Bernice Kahn, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, two brothers, William and Rudolph and three sisters, Louise, Marie and Elma. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Mount Moriah Lutheran Church in Byron, MN.Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson.Visitation will be from 12 noon Friday until service time at the church.
