Geraldine Griebenow

Geraldine R. Griebenow of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester, MN with her family by her side.

Geraldine was born on January 3, 1934 in Ortonville, Minnesota and was the oldest of 6 children to Fred V. Meyers and Marie (Krag) Meyers. The Meyers family moved to Rochester when Geri was a young child and she graduated from Rochester High School in 1952. She then went on to the Methodist Kahler School of Nursing to become an RN. Geri was employed at the Rochester State Hospital before working for the Methodist Hospital as an RN for 26 years. After retirement, she proudly volunteered for 21 years at the Mayo Clinic in admissions, the information desk, and giving city wide bus tours to newly hired Mayo Clinic physicians.

Geri met her future husband in elementary school where they walked to 2nd grade together. Geri and Lester Griebenow were married in 1957, and together they raised 3 children and hosted many visiting college students from all over the world in their home.

She is survived by her husband Lester of 66 years and their children Michelle (Gary) Collopy, David (Ruth) Griebenow, Leslie (Bob) Brink, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and Isazz (Khadija) Adam family and many friends.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Seasons Hospice House for their wonderful care of us and our beloved Mother.

Please join us for a visitation celebrating Geri on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 12 PM - 2 PM at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901). A private burial with immediate family will be held at a later date.
