Geraldine Geri R.Wilson, age 82, of Rochester, died on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Geri was born on October 18, 1932, in Blue Earth County, Minnesota, to Elwood and Ruth (Hughes) Schultz. She graduated from Owatonna High School and from Mankato State University with a bachelors degree in education. On February 26, 1955, Geri married James Jim Wilson in Owatonna. She was a teacher for the Rochester School District for several years. After retirement the couple moved to Cape Coral, Florida where they lived for over 26 years. Jim passed away on March 1, 2004. Geri returned home to Rochester in 2006. She loved reading, boating, playing bridge with her friends and making wine with her son. Geri was a past member of Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester, the Elks Club, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary, now known as the Department of Homeland Security. Geri is survived by her daughter, Diane (Patrick) Trepanier of Severn, Maryland; son, Doug (Marcia) Wilson of Rochester; grandson, Tony Wilson; siblings, Dick (Lou) Schultz of Crossville, Tennessee, Carolyn (Ed) Pederson and Curtis (Beverly) Schultz, both of Owatonna; and many nieces and nephews. Geri was preceded in death by her husband Jim; and brother, Daryl Schultz. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN with Reverend Shelly Cunningham officiating. A visitation will be from 4:30 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the Mayo Clinic Olmsted Study of Aging. The family would like to thank the staff at the Mayo Clinic ICU for their compassion and support during Geri's short time at the hospital.
