Geraldine "Geri" Johnson

Geraldine Geri Johnson age 76 of Pine Island, MN passed away July 25, 2011 at Olmsted Medical Hospital in Rochester. BornAugust 9, 1934 in Rochester, the daughter of Harold & Maude (Dutton) Schanrock.She married Leslie E. Les Johnson on June 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2005.She loved children, and was a proud grandmother who was always willing to take care of and spend time with her grandchildren.She loved the outdoors, especially gardening and bird watching, and canning her harvest from her garden.She enjoyed her trips to Treasure Island and her trips to South Dakota to visit family and friends.She loved collecting angels. She is survived by her six children: Bill Johnson (Jeanne) of Pine Island, Anita Sherry (Steve) of Dodge Center, Jeff Johnson of Pine Island, Cindy Yennie (Fay) of Byron, Kim Danks of Rochester, and Ginger Arnold (John) of West Concord. 17 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes and in keeping with her wishes the family asked you wear casual attire.Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday both at the funeral home.
