Gerald L. Campbell, 82, of Rochester, passed away of natural causes on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at his home in Rochester. Gerald was born February 11, 1934 in Rochester, MN to George and Addalee (Sturdevant) Campbell. On November 14, 1954, he married Marsha J. Riddle in Rochester. He served in the U.S Army and is a Korean War Veteran. Jerry worked as a sales manager for Wonderbread for 14 years then went on to work in insurance sales for 24 years and later for O and B Shoes in Rochester for 18 years. Jerry was past master of the Masonic Lodge, serving 52 years, including secretary-treasurer, and Grand Lodge District Representative. He was also a Boy Scout leader and volunteered in many local clubs and organizations while raising his children. Jerry has served on the Marion township board for over 30 years. Gerald is survived by his son Ed (Kyra) Campbell of Rochester; daughter Jerri (Scott) Lecy of Rochester; daughter Brenda Watkins of Zumbrota; son-in-law Steve Borchardt of Rochester; six grandchildren Joseph Borchardt, Stephanie Leonard, Brianna Oliver, Alexandra Steege, Hannah Watkins and Mitchell Watkins; and seven great-grandchildren Dannica, Madison, Graydon, Odin, Berit, Theran, and Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marsha in 2012, daughter Cindy Borchardt, an infant granddaughter, and one brother. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Ranfranz and Vine. Private family burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #92.
