Kasson-Funeral Services for Gerald E. Anderson, age 65 who died at home unexpectedly of apparent heart failure on Sunday, January 29th 2012, will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kasson, MN at 2:00 p.m. Monday,February 6th with Rev. Randy Fett Officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from noon until the time of the service. Burial with military honors, will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Tuesday. Gerald Elwin Anderson was born December 13, 1946 to Elwin C. and Louise (Zimmer) Anderson in Morris, MN.He grew up in the Wilmar, Eagle Lake, MN, area and attended elementary and high schoolthere.After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and served as a Machinist Repairman on the USS Hector.He married Audrey Harvey in Long Beach, California and they later divorced.He attended Wilmar Technical College and specialized in Carpentry.He moved to Duluth and workedfor Don Billman Construction for 16 years.He moved to Kasson in 1983 and has worked for Southern MN Machinery in Dodge Center ever since. Gerald enjoyed woodworking, woodcarving, charcoal drawing and cooking. He was a member of the Wilmar VFW. Gerald is survived by two sons, William Anderson(Irene) of Rochester; granddaughter, Cheyenne; James Anderson of Dodge Center, MN; granddaughters, Devyn, Darik, and Danielle; daughter; JeriAnn Anderson of Kasson, MN; granddaughter,Audrey;three brothers, David Anderson (Sandy) of Cambridge, MN; William Anderson of Melrose, MN,Bruce Anderson (Donna) of Marinette, WI; and stepfather, Meril Pregler of Brainerd, MN.
