George Eidem

George E. Eidem, 82, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017 at River Bend Assisted Living. George was born April 7, 1935 in Kasson, MN to Pete and Maddie (Paulson) Eidem. He started working at Quarve and Anderson Quarry when he was 14 years old and retired in 1994. George was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. George married Elaine Shaughnessy (divorced). George lived for his job and loved to tinker with automobiles, teaching his grandchildren how to work on their cars. He was a hardworking man and was always helping others. He is survived by his children, Michael Eidem of Rochester, Scott Eidem of Colorado, Steven Eidem of Wisconsin, Rebecca Eidem of Rochester, Jeffrey (Michelle) Eidem of Utah and Michelle Schroeder of Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by 6 brothers; 1 sister and his parents. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson.
