ROCHESTER: MINN. Gale L. Skrukrud, 84, passed away peacefully January 16, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Gale was born January 9, 1929, in Pilot Mound, MN to Odin and Gunild (Odegarden) Skrukrud. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, proudly serving his country during Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force after 24 years of service. In 1960, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, he married Margie Stutsman. Gale was a truck driver for Fernstron Moving Systems in Rochester until they closed in 1974. He then began driving for Mayflower until June 2012. Gale enjoyed working outside and was often found out mowing his yard. Gale is survived by his children, Robert (Mindy) Skrukrud of Bunker, MO, Judy (Chuck) Williams of Rochester, Barb Skrukrud of Rochester and Jeff (Donna) Skrukrud of Rochester; brother, Donald (Bridget) Skrukrud of Rochester; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Gale was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margie; son, Clifford Wayne Skrukrud; daughter, Carol Sprague; son-in-law, Dan Sprague; parents; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
