Frank P. Kennedy, Sr. age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2012, after a brief illness. He will be missed by his three sons, Frank Kennedy (Rochester, MN), Jeff Kennedy (Wellesley, MA), Greg Kennedy (Wallkill, NY), and his two daughters, Betty Lou Constantino (Longwood, FL) and Patricia Profiro of (Cornwall, NY). He will especially be missed by his surviving sister, Betty Conti of Myrtle Beach, SC, and his ten grandchildren and six great-grand children. Frank was an avid swimmer and lifeguard at Bear Mountain, New York. He served in the US Army until 1943. He was a licensed plumber and pipefitter (Local 373) working primarily at West Point and Stewart Air Force Base while he raised his family in New Windsor, NY. He retired in 1987 and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, where he and his beloved wife of 55 years, Louise, enjoyed an active retirement highlighted by golf, amateur radio, church and charity activities. On the death of his wife in 2007 he moved to Rochester, MN. He especially enjoyed his volunteer service at the Mayo Clinic where he welcomed and encouraged both children and adults receiving medical care. Frank enjoyed sharing his life stories and made many new friends and acquaintances. On Saturday, February 4, 2012at 4 pm, a service will be held at the Columbarium at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Memorials in Franks name can be sent to Mayo Clinic Poverello Fund 200 1st St. SW,Rochester, MN 55905, which supports other patients and families in need.
