Francis M. Weis

A memorial service for Francis M. Weis, 81, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00am on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Visitation will be from 5:00 7:00pm on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Francis Marvin Weis was born on March 2, 1934 in Rochester, MN to Frank and Rose (Klein) Weis.He passed away on May 17, 2015 at Seasons Hospice. Francis graduated from Rochester Central High School.He was drafted into the United States Army and stationed in Anchorage, AK where he worked as a stove and furnace mechanic.On January 4, 1958, he married Ruth Wheldon. Francis was employed at Southern Minnesota Auto Supply and later at Reynolds Wholesale.He enjoyed going down to the cabin on Lake Pepin.His recreational time was occupied by camping, golf, ping pong,fishing, cars, carpentry, bike riding, swing dancing, squirrel hunting, cross country skiing, lawn mowing and as a waiter for Mr. Donut. Survivors include a son, William Bill (Karla) Weis of Rochester, MN and a daughter, Barb Weis of Crystal, MN; grandchildren, Kenneth and Emily; and sisters, Delores Berg-David (deceased, Bill)of Hercules, California and Arleen (Truman) Moulton of Rochester, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother, Linus, and a child in infancy. Memorials are suggested to Seasons Hospice, Pax Christi Catholic Church, Eagles Cancer Telethon or a cancer charity of your choice.
