Frances Gray, 89, of Rochester, MN, passed from this life to Glory on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. She was born July 29, 1927, in Dwight, Illinois, the only child of Elmer and Mary Bunderson. She attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she met her husband, Walt, and they were married on August 22, 1948 in Dwight. They began their lives together in Schenectady, NY, but lived in many places, including Louisville, KY, Erie, PA, Houston, TX, and Santa Barbara, CA. She was active in bridge groups and church organizations wherever she lived and volunteered in libraries and museums in many of her communities. After Walts death in 2001, she moved to Rochester, where she lived at Charter House until her final days. Fran loved dogs and peach pie, and was known for her generosity and sense of humor. She was a woman of hospitality with a keen interest in others. She is survived by her children, son Dave (Barb) Gray of Houston, TX, daughter Pat (Ray) Anderson of Rochester, daughter Katie (Tim) McNees of Kenmore, WA, and daughter Heather McCormack of Rochester; grandchildren Andy (Kelsey) Gray, Libby Anderson, Neal Anderson, Daniel McNees, Ali McNees, and Megan McNees. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt Gray, her parents, and her grandson Lucas Gray. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at Ranfranz Vine Funeral Home 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN. on Saturday, January 7 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Joel Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday, January 7 at Ranfranz and Vine. A reception will follow the service.
