Everett Curt Ek

Everett enjoyed his final days. He shared a visit with Kellen, his great-grandson, on Saturday. Papa made scrambled eggs for his granddaughters, Alahn and Korah, Sunday morning after their stay over. Monday, he went cruising on his Harley and cleaned out his man cave, aka the garage. Tuesday morning found him savoring a Grain Belt in his man cave with Bob, a morning coffee klutch buddy. Later, when he went out to work in the yard on that beautiful day, he fell to the ground and was gone. Everett and his dad each lived their lives to the fullest, 72 years and 48 days. Everett is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Karen; children, Stephen Ek of Pittsburgh, PA, Jeffery (Avis) Ek of Mantorville, MN, Jason (Traci) Ek of St. Michael, MN, Brian (Dawn) Ek of Rochester; grandchildren, Becky (Paul) McIntyre, Dan Ek, Alex Ek, Lindsay Ek, Lauren Ek, Alahn Ek, Korah Ek, Ashley Broin; great-grandson, Kellen McIntyre; sister, Mary (Bill) Twomey of Blaine, MN; brother, Alan (Carolyn) Ek of Shoreview, MN; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Everett was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Ek Schuck; his grandson, Justin; his daughter-in-law, Teresa Ek and his parents, Evert and Margaret Ek. Everett is a spirit in the sky. A Funeral Mass will be held 2:00pm Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 4135 18th Ave. NW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00pm Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church.
