Evelyn L. Grunklee

Evelyn Louise (Kracht) Grunklee, 99, a lifelong area resident was born March 5, 1926, in rural Mantorville, MN to William and Pearl (Farmer) Kracht. She graduated from Mantorville High School in 1943. She was employed as a clerk at several stores, Bell Telephone Company, Saint Mary's Hospital, and Water's Conley.

Evelyn married Reuben J. Grunklee on June 12, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kasson, MN. They lived in Owatonna until 1958 then moved to Rochester where Rueben was employed with the Rochester Post Office for 18 years.

Evelyn enjoyed roses, peonies, gladiolas, cats, chocolate, big band music and traveling. She was kind, generous and fun-loving. A special thanks to the staff of Heartland Hospice and the amazing volunteer Kara. Also, to Angelo Williams and Stephanie Tyler with much love.

Survivors include a beloved son David of Rochester, as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004, her parents, one brother and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Paw & Claws or donor's choice.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
