Eugene Howard Rush

Eugene Howard Rush age 92, a resident of Fairview Care Center and formerly of Rochester, went to meet his daughter in heaven on her birthday, November 15, 2013.Born April 4, 1921 in Chippewa Falls, WI the son of Charles & Anna (Post) Rush.He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir, enjoyed collecting model cars, wood carving, gardening and especially caring for a variety of roses that he grew.He was a member of the Quarterbacks club and wood carving club.He worked many years for Hanny's Menswear and was manager at the time the store moved into the mall.He served in the US Army during World War II.He married Dorothy Schellin on October 25, 1942 and she preceded him in death January 1997.He is survived by his children: James Rush (Sherry) of Rochester,Leslie Ackman (Jerry) of Plainview, and Sandy Nilsson of Rochester, 6 grandchildren: Jason, Jessica, Benjamin, Ashley, Samantha, and Brande and one great granddaughter: Gracia.He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter Gretchen, and a grandson Marcus.A celebration of life will take place 3 PM Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home.Memorials appreciated to Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center (P.O.
