Ethel Lorena Wrought, 92, of Rochester passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. Marys Hospital. Ethel was born July 12, 1922 in St. Paul, MN to Patrick John and Lorena Bridget (O'Connor) O'Leary. On November 20, 1942 she married Henry Wrought. Ethel and Henry were co-owners of Ace Linoleum in Rochester for numerous years before retiring from the business. Ethel enjoyed square dancing as part of the Carousel Squares square dancing group and was a tremendous seamstress. She was extremely proud of her 100% Irish heritage, which showed in her Irish wit. Ethel loved spending her time traveling the US or time at their cabin on the Mississippi River with her family. She was admired for her kind, patient, gentle ways with all of those she knew. Ethel was a woman of strong faith and a cancer survivor.Above all, Ethel was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. She enjoyed spending time and making memories with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ethel is survived by her children, Gerald (Laurel) Wrought of Rochester, Patricia (Lee) Lovelace of Rochester, Rita (Martin) King of Rochester, Jane (Philip) Balow of Prior Lake, MN.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a sister, Irene (Earl) Gramling of LeCenter, MN. Ethel was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Henry; parents; 1 brother and 2 sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 1315 12th Ave. NW., Rochester.
