Ethan Allen Stewart, Jr.

Ethan Allen Stewart, Jr. passed away April 22, 2014 as a result of complications brought on by Alzheimers.He was 87.Al is survived by his wife of 65 plus years, Connie; his daughters, Carol Penskar of Orinda, CA, Connie Stewart of Battle Creek, MI and his son, James Stewart of Rochester, MN along with seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Al was a long time Ford Motor Company executive working GPD Saline and the Ford Research Center in Dearborn, MI where he retired from in 1988.Prior to Ford, he also worked at Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati and with the Randall Company in Wilmington, OH.During WWII Al served in the merchant Marines and was at sea headed to Murmansk, USSR when the war ended in Europe in May 1945.Al and his family were Ann Arbor, MI residents for nearly 50 years.He was a 1948 MIT Mechanical Engineering graduate.He loved recreational swimming, was an avid target shooter, and a community activist for primary education.More recent Al and Connie moved to Rochester, MN and resided at the Charter House.Any memorial contributions should be made in Als memory to Paws and Claws Humane Society in Rochester, MN.
