Esther Alice Woolley

Esther Alice Woolley (Saterdalen), born Dec. 19, 1942, passed away at home April 19, 2017. Esther was born and raised in Rochester and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1961. In August of 1962, Esther married David Woolley. (He preceded her in death). They moved to Kirkland Washington in 1966, where Esther worked for Boeing. Esther and David later divorced in 1979, and Esther moved back to Rochester in 1982 to be with family. Esther enjoyed spending most of her summer months fishing and camping at Ponderosa Camp ground. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR and going to stock car races, where she drove in powder puff races for women. Esther worked for ShopKo for 16 1/2 years and was a school bus driver for the last 10 years prior to retirement. She was preceded in death by parents, Oscar Melvin Saterdalen and Hilda Irene Saterdalen (Kruger). She is survived by daughters, Lori Ann Huckins (Woolley) and Cindy Irene Woolley (John Lower); grandchildren, Cassandra Irene Lower-Woolley and Zachariah Perry Lower-Woolley; brothers, Robert Carl Saterdalen and Richard Oscar Saterdalen; other relatives and friends. A special thanks to our new friends with Mayo Hospice for their caring support. There will be a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
