Emil Heintz

Emil "Sonny" R. Heintz, age 86, of Rochester, MN passed away December 2, 2024 at Madonna Towers in Rochester, MN.

Emil Roosen Heintz was born September 15, 1938 in Marinette, Wisconsin the son of Emil and Alexina (Roosen) Heintz. Sonny married Sharon Wilcox and in their union had 3 children, Don, Dale and Susan. He was a dedicated 36 year employee of IBM. Sonny was an avid amateur motorcycle racer, winning over 200 trophies. He was a member of the Golden Eagles Motorcycle Club and founding member of the Arkansas Race Track in Wisconsin. He raced in enduros and enjoyed trial riding. He also enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, jogging and roller blading. In the earlier years, Sonny and Sharon enjoyed their travels to South Dakota including Deadwood and weekend agate hunting.

Sonny is survived by his children, Susan (Joe) Meier of Chaska MN, and Don (Connie) Heintz of Elgin MN; two grandchildren, Connor (Carly) Meier and Tyler Meier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, son Dale, and sister Alice Osborne.

A private family graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester, MN.
