Ellen Margaret Krueger

The funeral service for Ellen Krueger will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester,with Reverend Joel Haak officiating.Burial will follow in St. Charles Hillside Cemetery. A visitation will be held on from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. On Monday, March 19, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. Ellen, 99, passed from this life onMarch 16,2012 at Maple Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center. Ellen Margaret Williams was born on August 6, 1912, in George, Iowa, to John and Katherine (Christians) Williams. She attended school in Canton, SD, and later moved to Rapid City, SD, where she began working as a telephone operator.While there, Ellen met Ross Krueger who was stationed at Ft. Mead.They were married on Sept. 5, 1938 and farmed in the Plainview, Dover and St. Charles areas for several years. The family resided in Rochester in the 1950s before moving to a hobby farm on the West River Road, where Ellen continued to live until moving to Rochester in 1994. Ellen was employed at the former Rochester Credit Bureau until her retirement in 1979. She enjoyed gardening, travelling and volunteering at her church during her retirement years. Ellen is survived by a son, Ron of Elgin and a daughter, Sharon (William) Doonan of Orange Park, Fl.She is also survived by two grandchildren,Nicholas Watts ofRiverhead, NY and Sara (Giacobbe) Seaberry of New Hope, MN, and also five great-grandchildren.Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Ross, in 1976, a sister and two brothers.Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Rochester.
