ROCHESTER, MINN:Elizabeth A. Beth Duffie, 79, died at her home in Rochester, MN on Thursday, March 1, 2012. Elizabeth Ann Duffie was born December 7, 1932 to Carl and Elizabeth (Swartz) Herre in Kansas City, MO. Beth graduated from South East High School in Kansas City, MO in 1951 and the University of Kansas in 1955. She married Michael A. Duffie on March 30, 1957 in Kansas City, MO. The couple moved to Rochester, MN in 1978 started the Midas Muffler Shop. She was a homemaker and an artist who participated in Country Crafts, and owned and operated Plum Tree Primitives for five years. Beth was active in the Community Bible Study,Tourist Club, Garden Club, Rochester Country Club and Habitat for Humanity.She attendedAutumn Ridge Church. Beth is survived by her children; a son Jonathan (Veronica) Duffie, Littleton, CO, her three daughters, Jan Duffie, Eden Prairie, MN, Jennifer Duffie, Minnetonka, MN, Jody (Chad) Anderson, Rochester, MN; her six grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Duffie, Katie Dellenbach, Jacob, Zachery, and Mitchell Anderson; a brother Dr. C. William (Marian) Herre, Overland Park, KS, and a sister Nancy Ridge Gardner, Overland Park, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Michael. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Autumn Ridge Church. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. A private family inurnment will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Season's Hospice, Rochester, MN.
