Eleanor L. McNutt, 90, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Eleanor Louisa Lambert was born April 5, 1924 to Frank and Grace (Dillinger) Lambert in Wessington Springs, SD. She was raised in Ft. Wayne, IN and graduated from high school. Eleanor married Calvin F. McNutt on December 15, 1944 in Ft. Wayne, IN. The couple moved to Rochester in 1961. She was a homemaker and talented artist who enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. She enjoyed flying with her husband Calvin. Eleanor enjoyed playing Yahtzee. More than everything, Eleanor loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Eleanor is survived by her children, Gayle (Lawrence) Corbin, Ft. Wayne, IN, Mavis (Richard) Hedlund, North St. Paul, MN, Patrick (Linda) McNutt, Ft. Wayne, IN, Jennie (Don) Grovdahl, Hayfield, MN, Kim (Dan) Mohler, Rochester, MN, Michael (Tami) McNutt, Lima, OH, and Kelly (Daniel) Peterson, Hermantown, MN; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; and her close friend Mary Hanson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Calvin, a daughter Hilary, 3 brothers and 5 grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 1:05 p.m. Memorials may be designated to Seasons Hospice.
