Eleanor E. Putnam, 95, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Olmsted Medical Center. Eleanor was born December 2, 1919 in Arthur, ND to Albert and Esther (Martin) Drake. Eleanor was a resident of Rochester since the 1940's. On June 8, 1946, Eleanor married Hawley Putnam. Eleanor and Hawley later divorced but remained very close friends. She worked at Libby's, Pace Dairy but most of her working career was spent at Rochester Dairy. Eleanor was a member of the VFW, Rochester Eagles and the American Legion. She enjoyed dancing, wearing high heels and being around her friends and family. Eleanor loved to crochet, knit, work on ceramics and gardening. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a hard working woman. She will be missed by all who knew her. Eleanor is survived by her children, Linda Putnam of Rochester, Larry (Colleen) Putnam of Pillager, MN., Loujean (Robert) Noble of Rochester; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Hendrickson, Rich Hendrickson, Alison (Justin) Hall, Adam (JoAnne) Putnam, Andrew Noble and 6 great-grandchildren, Josh Christianson, Nate, Andy and Joe Putnam, Eli and Nolan Hall. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Hawley, parents Albert and Esther; brother Francis and sister, Shirley. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 26, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW., Rochester. Visitation will be held 2:00-5:00PM Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
