Elaine L. Folkert, 83, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2020 at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth. Elaine Lorena Henn was born on November 14, 1936, in Lake City, MN to Richard and Irene Henn. She graduated from Lake City High School, moved to Rochester and married Stanley D. Folkert. With over 30 years of service at Mayo Clinic, Elaine retired as the Desk Supervisor, in the Department of Cardiology. One of the highlights of her career was when she had the opportunity to assist with the opening of the Mayo Clinic Arizona campus. Elaine played piano by ear, loved playing cards, camping, being in the sun, going for Sunday drives, gardening, walks around the neighborhood and getting together with family and friends. Elaine had a very social personality and a quick and witty sense of humor. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stan (1992); and siblings, Edwin, Emery, Esther, Delores, Dallas, Richard Jr., Lois, and Jean. Survivors include two daughters, Patti Ryno, of Scottsdale, AZ. and Pamela Folkert, of Rochester; son, David (Anastasia) Folkert, of Hudson, WI; 6 grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon) Yost, Lindsay (Rocklin) Kellerhall, Andrew Ryno, Elsie Shartin-Folkert, Charlie Shartin-Folkert and Aaron Shartin-Folkert; and 5 great-grandchildren, Kiley, William, Jaxson, Kaelyn, and Elsie. A celebration of Elaine's life may be held at a later date.
