Elaine June Bjelland

Elaine June (Petersen) Bjelland, 85, formerly of Rochester, Minnesota died on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Ecumen Assisted Living in New Richland, MN.Visitation for Elaine will be held at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home from 5-7 on Tuesday, December 22.The funeral will be held at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 23rd at 1 pm.Burial is at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester. Elaine June (Petersen) Bjelland was born June 3, 1930 to David and Grace Marie (Christopherson) Petersen.She grew up and graduated from high school in Albert Lea, MN.On July 14, 1953, Elaine was united in marriage to Robert Bjelland at Calvary Baptist Church in Albert Lea, MN. Elaine was employed as a Dental Assistant in Albert Lea and Rochester.She also worked at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester as a pacemaker lab technician.Elaine enjoyed babysitting for several families in Rochester.Elaine loved to be with her family and visits from the children she babysat as they grew up.She enjoyed reading, embroidering and crafts. Survivors include a son Scott (Sue) of Devils Lake, ND, her grandson Ethan of Minneapolis, MN and her granddaughter Erica of Moorhead, MN; her sister Patricia (Tom) Benson of Hartland, MN, a sister in law Dorothy Petersen of Albert Lea, MN, her brother in law Richard (Lea) Bjelland and several nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert (Bob), brothers Orville, Robert W. and Eugene Petersen, her sisters and brothers in law Doris (Paul) Coyle, Arline (Bud) Nelson, and Donna ( Frank) Bartz .
