Elaine E. Searles

Thanks and praise to our Dear Lord for calling Elaine Edna Searles (86) home on Wednesday March 23, 2016. Elaine was born September 18, 1929 in Winona, MN to Edward and Edna (Ohm) Young.On September 24, 1949 she married the love of her life Eugene C. Searles at St. Martins Lutheran Church in Winona, MN.Their 66 year marriage was an inspiration to all. As a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Rochester, MN since 1949 she joyfully served on numerous committee's until her health failed her.While she was gainfully employed at Mayo Clinic for many years her most rewarding job as "Home Executive" was raising her family. Elaine is survived by her loving husband Gene, daughter Jacquelyn (Robert) Bonsi, daughter-in-law Kathleen Searles, brother-in-law Edward Searles, sister-in-law Karen Young, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert and Jeryl and son Jeffrey.She loved and was loved by many. Elaine requested a very private family burial on a date yet to be determined.Because of her love of reading and fishing she would be honored if you thought of her the next time you read a book or cast a fishing line in her memory. The family requests memorials be made to Season's Hospice at 1696 Greenview Drive SW Rochester, MN55902. May she rest in peace.
