Eileen Catherine Holte

Eileen Catherine (DeFrang) Holte, 90, of Burnsville , MN went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 30, 2012. Eileen was born November 3, 1921, in Wabasha, MN. She grew up in Lake City and later moved to Rochester where she lived most of her life.She married Knute Holte August 12, 1948 in Lake City, MN. She and her husband owned and operated K & E Cleaners in Kasson and Plainview Cleaners for many years. She was also employed as a waitress at Michael's Restaurant in Rochester for 34 years. Her passions included quilting, baking, spending time with family and friends especially her four grandchildren who meant the world to her.She was a long time member of St. Pius Church in Rochester. She graciously gave of her time and talents, touching the lives of many people. She will be missed dearly. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Knute Holte; father, John DeFrang; and mother, Agatha (Koob) DeFrang; sisters, Dorothy (Paul) Holmsted, Mary DeFrang, Eleanor Martin, Mildred (John) Holland; and brothers, Leo (Evelyn) DeFrang, James DeFrang and Ralph (Barb) DeFrang.She is survived by her son, Jim (Julie) of Prior Lake; daughter, Jane (Hal) Palmer of Burnsville; grandchildren, Andrew, Samuel, Elizabeth Palmer and Brock Holte; brothers, Richard (Connie) DeFrang of Lake City, Robert (Rowene) DeFrang of Rochester; and sister, Carol (Leonard) Kane of Rochester. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am this Friday at Faith Covenant Church , 12921 Nicollet Avenue , Burnsville , MN , with visitation two hours prior at the church.Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester . In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family or to the charity of your choice.
