Edith Hegg Runerson, 88, died October 6, 2016 peacefully in her sleep.Edith was born to Martin and Anne Hegg in Landa, North Dakota on November 19, 1927. Edy was a Rochester resident since 1962, a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Rochester Quilters Sew-ciety and Mayo Clinic Volunteers where she made thousands of stuffed animals for the pediatricMayo Clinic patients. She was married to Marion Runerson for 60 years. Together they loved to be with their family, travel in their motor home, explore the world on cruise ships, and find treasures at garage sales. Edith is survived bydaughterAnnette (Cliff) Sjolund of Rochester, grandsonMarty Sjolund(Deborah Guimaraes) andgreat grandchildrenRemington and Phoenix Sjolund of Houston, Texas;grandsonCasey (Melissa) Sjolund andgreat grandchildrenSullivan and Sebastian Sjolund of Helena, Montana;daughterKaren (Paul) Koeller of Rochester andgranddaughterMara (Landon) Ascheman of Saint Anthony, Minnesota. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and eleven siblings: Ruth (Alfred) Everson, Julius (Gladys) Hegg, Carl Hegg, Edwin Hegg, Orvin (Viola) Hegg, Mabel (Carl-Slim) Wass, Alice (Walter) Simonson, Alvina (Roger) Kersten-(James) Jacobson, Tina (Armand) Jacobson, Borghild (Ben) Haugen, Agnes (Sverre) Scheflo. A memorial service will be held at 2:00on Monday, October 10thatHealy Memorial Chapel, Oakwood Cemetery, 38 7thAve. NEin Rochester, Pastor Karna Hagen Moskalik officiating.
