Dwight E. Bisbey, 91, of Rochester, passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice House on Friday, January 4, 2019. Dwight was born December 22, 1927 in Webster City, IA to Elmer and Ruth (Schwabauer) Bisbey. He was a 1946 graduate of Clarion High School in Iowa and went on to proudly serve his country as part of the U.S. Army, during both World War II and the Korean War. On April 17, 1949, in Clarion, he married Joyce Larsen. During his professional career, Dwight began as a bookkeeper at the local Chevy dealership in Clarion before becoming a regional manager with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa, where he would retire from after 25 years of service. He loved sports, especially college football, playing golf, playing cards with solitaire being a favorite, watching classic movies and listening to 40's music. Dwight was outgoing, charming, social and enjoyed talking to people. He was a great role model in both his personal and professional life. Having a passion for investing and bookkeeping, Dwight was thorough, meticulous and very organized. He was hard working in everything he did and thoughtful to his family and other people. Dwight is survived by his children, Roger (Julie) Bisbey of Rochester, Nancy (Larry Mendenhall) Eichmann of Altoona, IA, Kathy (Brian) Silk of Boise, ID; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and sister, Elnora Bensen. Dwight was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; grandson, Paul; sister, Lois and brothers, Bill and Allan.
