Duwayne A. Forbord

DuWayne A. Forbord, 67, of Rochester, MN died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. DuWayne Allen Forbord was born on June 13, 1951 to Olaf and Esther (Stroebel) Forbord in Benson, MN. He graduated from Benson High School in 1969. In 1973 he graduated from the University of MN with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. On August 4th he married Debra Haugen in Roseville, MN. The couple moved to Rochester in 1973 where he started his career in banking. He started working at Northwestern Bank which later became Wells Fargo Bank, where he was Vice President of Business Banking. He retired after 36 years in 2009. Throughout his career he enjoyed being involved with the Jaycees, Channel One Food Bank, and the Rochester Exchange Club. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and family vacations. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the MN Gophers, Vikings, and Twins. He enjoyed going for drives in his Mustang, planning outings & activities, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his generosity in helping others, kindness, and wisdom. DuWayne is survived by his wife, Debra of Rochester; two daughters, Sara (Jess) Smith of Hebron, KY and Laura (Jeff) Kotnour of Golden Valley, MN; one son, Eric Forbord of Rochester; four grandchildren, Ellie, Jill, Bella, and Taylor; three brothers, Marlow (Lola) Forbord of Minneapolis, MN, Glen Forbord of Sauk Rapids, MN and Dale Forbord of Litchfield, MN, two sister-in-law's, Lois Forbord of Greenfield, WI, and Norma Forbord of Roseville, MN and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Roger. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church with Pastor Glenn Monson officiating. Visitation will take place from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Inurnment will be at Oakwood East Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Mayo Clinic Cancer Research, or Mayo Hospice.
