Robert (Bob) William Weinrich, D.D.S., age 85 of Rochester, MN died at home on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Bob was born July 11, 1933 in Houston, TX to Everett and Hazel (Houghton) Weinrich. His family moved to Minnesota when he was 4 years old. He graduated from Trinity Lutheran School and then Rochester High School in 1951. He then attended the University of Minnesota receiving a B.A. in 1955; B.S. in 1957 and D.D.S. in 1959. After serving in the Air Force as Captain, he moved back to Rochester and opened a dental office in S.E. Rochester. In 1974 he married his love and best friend, Nancy Lehnertz. The two were inseparable for more than 45 years. Bob and Nancy enjoyed doing everything together. Their faith in the Lord was the cornerstone and foundation of their marriage and the laughter they shared reflected a truly contented life together. During this time, Bob established the Family Dentist Tree. He absolutely loved dentistry, his staff and patients so after retiring the first time, he purchased a dental practice in Chatfield, MN and then in retirement volunteered his services at the Samaritan Dental Clinic. Bob was an Eagle Scout and Scout Master. He loved fishing, hunting and reading and was often called a "walking encyclopedia" by his family. He was also an excellent cook. Bob served on many professional dental associations and was an alumni of the L.D. Pankey Institute. Bob was also active on the Olmsted County Welfare Advisory Board and the Peer Review Board for Southeast District Dental Society and Dental Consultants. He was very involved with his church and the love for His Lord. He served as a Trustee, Stewardship Committee Chairman, Stewardship Committee Volunteer/Worker, Evangelism Committee Member, two terms in the Board of Elders, an usher, and organized, staffed and worked on fund-raising events. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Donald (Deborah) Weinrich of Plainview, MN, Mary (Peter) Hiller of Ramsey, MN, Jason Weinrich of Rochester, MN and Michael (Rachel) Weinrich of Rochester, MN; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Joel Haak officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Bob's request of no flowers was so his memory would be honored with a more meaningful and beneficial offering. A donation to either the Rochester Salvation Army, Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of your choosing is preferred.
