Dorothy Vonch

Dorothy J. Vonch, 91, died peacefully on Friday, November 8,2024 at Madonna Towers after a lengthy battle with dementia.

Dorothy Jean Vonch was born September 29,1933 to Charles and Mabel (Larson) Rud in Rochester, MN. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1951. Dorothy married Larry E. Vonch on November 11, 1951 at East St. Olaf Church in Rock Dell, MN. The couple had six children.

Dorothy sold Sarah Coventry Jewelry and was Branch Manager of SE Minnesota. Later she did bookkeeping for her husband's business, Vonch Concrete. After retiring, Larry and Dorothy moved to their lake home on Lake Zumbro where she loved to crochet, needle point and do crossword puzzles. She made many many beautiful items that gave her great pleasure in giving them to her family and friends. She also enjoyed wintering at their home in Florida. The family would like to thank Mayo Clinic Hospice for their dedicated support and care.

Dorothy is survived by her six children, Steve Vonch, Rochester, MN, Brad (Mary) Vonch, Milaca, MN, Sherry (Jim) Rush, Byron, MN, Terry (Steve) Fields, Rochester, MN, Jackie (Tim) Ledwein, Charlotte, NC, and LuAnn (Curt) Carpenter, Eden Prairie, MN; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sisters Joan Groszbach and Ruth Hareldson, and Brother Duke Rud and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Robert, LeRoy and Stan Rud and sister Genevieve Badger.

A visitation will be held from 11AM-1PM Friday, December 6, 2024, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home's Chapel, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, Minnesota with a light lunch following the service at the Ranfranz and Vine Remembrance and Reception Centre. A private family burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.
