Dorothy Mae Hartleip

BYRON -Dorothy M. Hartleip, 81, died on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Maple Manor in Rochester. Dorothy was born in Potsdam, MN on November 26, 1930 to Cecil and Agnes (Tradup) Burch.She graduated from Pine Island High School.Dorothy married Lester Raymond Hartleip on June 27, 1949 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Pine Island.She worked for six years at Northwest Bank in Rochester.Dorothy was a homemaker for most of her life and helped on the family farm near Byron.She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Byron and was a member of Martha Circle and other church committees.Dorothy was also a member of the American Legion Post 119 Auxiliary.She enjoyed traveling, camping, baking and gardening.She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lester; five sons, Larry (Carolyn) Hartleip, of Brighton, MI, Al (Erleen) Hartleip, of Byron, MN, Ray (Cindy) Hartleip, of Rochester, Dave (Anne) Hartleip, of Hartland, WI, and Steve (Sue) Hartleip, of La Crosse, WI; nine grandchildren, Shawna Hartleip, Kristin Moore, Whitney Hartleip, Alyssa Hartleip, Mikayla Hartleip, Derek Hartleip, Nicole Hartleip, Jackie Hartleip, and Tiffany (Pat) Cataldo; and three great grandchildren, Cade Cataldo, Madelynn Hartleip, and Alayna Hartleip; and two siblings, Leonard (Dorothy) Burch, of Rochester, and Marlys McRoberts, of Apple Valley, MN. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, 201 Frontage Road NW in Byron with Rev. Steve Rheingans officiating.Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church.Burial will take place at Byron Cemetery.
