ROCHESTER, MINN: Dorothy May Schultz, 94, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Charter House. Dorothy was born December 11, 1916 to Leonard and Constance (Merkel) Hooks. Dorothy married Clarence Herbert Schultz in 1937. Dorothy was a longtime resident of Farmington Township before spending 10 years at Gramercy Park then Charter House. She worked at St. Marys Hospital for 20 years as a nurse aid. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the 63 Busy Bees Homemaker Club. Dorothy also participated in the Senior Center Silver Treads and the Kitchen Band. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting and spending time in her garden. Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Clarence (Sharon) of Elgin, JoAnne Doty of Rochester, Darrell (Gloria) of Rochester, Robert (Marlene) of Pine Island, Jeannie (Dave) Miller of Seattle, WA., Barbara (Glenn) Quam of Byron, Becky Schultz of Byron; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne (Alma) Solberg; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Constance Hooks and by her loving husband, Clarence. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00pm Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Friday, January 7, 2011 at Christ United Methodist Church 400 5th Ave. SW, Rochester, MN where the family will also receive friends from 10:00am until time of service. Rev. Nancy Wheeler Handlon will be officiating with interment at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
