Dorothy Leach, 95, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Season's Hospice House in Rochester. Dorothy was born June 21, 1920 in Clarion, Iowa to Oscar and Gladys (Hickcox) Dahlgren.Her family later moved to Austin, MN where she graduated from Austin High School. She met Earl Leach in Austin and they were married on April 20th, 1941. Dorothy was an excellent homemaker and made everyone feel welcome.She enjoyed children and did daycare for friends and family.Dorothy loved to garden and be outdoors for any reason and all things nature.She also enjoyed sewing and handwork, canning delicious fruits and vegetables, baking delicious desserts (especially chocolate chip cookies).Dorothy and her husband bought many pieces of antique furniture to refinish and enjoy in their home.Dorothy had many friendships over the years.She was active in the PTA when her kids were growing up and other church groups at Christ United Methodist Church.Dorothys biggest joys were her grandchildren and they loved to be with her, she had the best sense of humor. She is survived by her two children, son, David of Minneapolis; daughter, Carol Braam of Rochester; three grandchildren, Marnie of Minneapolis, Michael Mikey B (Amy OConnor) and Matthew; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Earl Leach; three brothers; one sister and daughter in-law. Service and celebration will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Christ United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
