Dorothy Ellen Schwartz, 79, of Rochester, MN. died Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Riverbend Senior Living in Rochester, MN. Dorothy was born November 25, 1936 in Wadena, MN to George and Delores (Mitzell) Conn.She graduated from Bertha Hewitt High School in Bertha, MN.On October 16, 1956, she married Bill Schwartz in Reno, Nevada.The couple lived in San Diego, CA. until moving to Rochester in 1965.Dorothy was a paraprofessional for many schools in the Rochester school district.She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, baking, and cooking. She is survived by her husband, Bill of Rochester; son, Greg (Patricia) Schwartz of Eden Prairie, MN.; daughter Patricia (Harold) Metzger of Phoenix, AZ; and two grandchildren, Jenna and Logan.Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ann Mark and Della Sherry; and one brother Darold Conn. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN. with Reverend Dr. Charles Ortloff officiating.Visitation will be held 1 hours prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at Ranfranz and Vine. Burial will be in Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester, MN.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Alzheimers Research.
