Dorothy Culbertson

Dorothy C. Culbertson, 100 of Rochester, MN left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Rochester, MN. Dorothy Coleman Rich was born October 26, 1918 to John and Alma (Mueske) Rich in Mazeppa Township, MN. She grew up in Wabasha County and moved to Farmington Township at the age of 14 and helped relatives. She married Francis Culbertson on June 12, 1936. The couple started farming in Farmington Township. Dorothy was very involved with the farming and worked hard her entire life. She retired from milking cows in 1973. The couple would spend their winters in California. Francis passed away January 6, 2001. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. She enjoyed exercising, gardening, embroidering and watching the Twins and Vikings. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Carrie "Bonnie" Olson of Rochester, MN and Beverly Jean (Al) Flaten of El Cajon, CA; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and three sisters, son-in-law, two grandsons and one granddaughter. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN) with the Reverend Paul Bauch officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Chen with the Mayo Clinic, Season's Hospice and the Arbor Terrace Assisted Living staff. She loved you all. Memorials are suggested to Oakwood Cemetery or Oronoco Cemetery.
