Doris Mae Golberg

Doris Mae Golberg, age 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Madonna Towers in Rochester, Minnesota. Doris Mae "Goldie" Golberg was born on September 6, 1922 to parents Theodore and Jeannette (Hatlestad) Golberg in Rock Dell, Minnesota. She was baptized on October 8, 1922 at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1940 and graduated from Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis in 1943. Doris Mae served in the Cadet Nursing Corps and graduated from the Kahler School of Nursing in 1947. She spent most of her adult life in the nursing profession. She attended Minnesota Bible College (now Crossroads College) from 1980-82 and graduated from Concordia University in St. Paul. Doris Mae had a lifelong passion for reading and studying. She was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester. She is survived by her cousins, Sr. Kathleen Warren of San Diego, CA, Brad Mossing of Brookfield, WI and Susan Friday of Brookfield, WI. She will be dearly missed by her good friends, Shirley and Richard "Dick" Valde of Rochester, MN along with her family at Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ruby Glabe. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2020 at Redeemer Lutheran Church 89 7th Ave. SE, Rochester, MN. Service will be livestreamed through Redeemer Lutheran Church website. Inurnment will be in the Columbarium at Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester, Minnesota. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, masks are required at all services with proper social distancing measures. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
