Doris M. Larson

Doris M. Larson, 83, of Rochester, MN passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at Maple Manor Care Center. Doris Mae was born August 13, 1933 to Carl and Vivian (Prentiss) Elford in Douglas, MN. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1951. After high school, she went on to Rochester Junior College with a secretarial finishing degree. Doris worked for Production Credit, Sheet Metal Union and Federal Soil and Conservation. On October 9, 1954 Doris married William Larson at the United Methodist Church in Rochester. Doris enjoyed playing cards, bingo, traveling, square dancing and the 51ers Club. Doris cherished the time she was able to spend with her family that she loved so much. She was a member of the Homestead United Methodist Church. Doris is survived by her loving husband, William of Rochester; three children, Pamela Lawrence of Rochester, Brian (Olga) Larson of Eagan, MN and Barry (Pamela) Larson of St. Cloud, MN; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn (Robert) Herbst of Annandale, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wesley and her twin brother, Donald Elford; and sister, Orinne Nagel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with the Reverend Luke Nelson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army Good Samaritan Dental Clinic.
