Doris Iva Dean

ROCHESTER, MINN:Doris I. Dean, 88, died Monday, October 8, 2012 at her home in Rochester, MN. Doris Iva Buswell was born February 11, 1924 to Franklin and Iva (Warner) Buswell in Winona Township, Winona County, MN. She graduated from Winona High School in 1942 and married Charles W. Dean on June 24, 1943 in Winona, MN. After sixty-four years of marriage, Charles died on November 19, 2007. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She worked as a nursery school teacher for many years in Rochester and was an avid Bridge player. The couple were long time members of Christ United Methodist Church. Doris loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family at the lake cabin that she and her husband built in northern Minnesota. Doris is survived by her daughter Margaret Dean, St. Paul, MN, her four sons, Michael Dean, Rochester, MN, Richard Dean, St. Paul, MN, Steven (Vicki) Dean, Kasson, MN and John (Jo) Dean, Rochester, MN; her nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, and two sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the funeral home. A private family graveside service will be held in Oakland Cemetery, Minnesota City, MN. Memorials are suggested to Mayo Clinic for cancer research.
