Doris E. Weist

A memorial service for Doris E. Weist, 92, of Rochester will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 1 ½ hours prior to the service at the church. Doris Elaine Taylor was born on September 11, 1926 in Tipton, IA to Charles and Minnie (Parsons) Taylor. She died on February 17, 2019 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Doris graduated from Tipton High School and attended college in Mt. Vernon, IA. She married Norman Weist on December 5, 1948 in Tipton, IA. Doris worked in the Statistics Department for Mayo Clinic for two years and later stayed home to help raise her four children. Doris was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was a soloist and sang in the choir. Currently she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, sewing and needlepoint. She and Norman enjoyed traveling and spending the winters out West. Survivors include her husband, Norman Weist of Rochester; one daughter, Janet Weist (Kenneth Eddy) of Apache Junction, AZ; two sons, Keith Weist of New Hope, MN and Greg Weist of Blue Grass, IA; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven, one brother, Max and one sister, Evelyn Fox. Memorials can be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
