Doris E. Fiegel

KASSON, MINN:Doris E. Fiegel, 86, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at Fairview Nursing Home in Dodge Center, MN. Doris Evelyn Nelson Fiegel was born July 1, 1927 to Samuel A. and Alice M. (Larsen) Nelsonin Kalmar Township, Olmsted Co., MN. She graduated from Byron High School in 1945. Doris married Donald Fiegel at Bethel Lutheran Church June 12, 1948. They farmed in Dodge County, and moved to Kasson in 1994. Doris worked at Byron State Bank prior to her marriage, and was a 22-year employee of Peoples Natural Gas. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, served on the church council, taught Sunday School and participated in numerous church activities. She was a county officer in the National Farmers Organization, a charter member of the Byron High School Alumni Association, and was active for more than 60 years in the Harmony Club, a rural Kasson group. Doris enjoyed sewing, dancing, bowling, playing cards and being a mother. Doris is survived by two children, Dawn (Michael) Cole, Minnetonka, MN and Dean (Lynn) Fiegel, Three Rivers, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister and one brother. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kasson, MN. with Pastor Randy Fett officiating.Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kasson, MN. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church, Creation Kids Preschool Scholarship Fund and Dodge County Foodshelf.
