Doris Lillian Doring passed away on August 27, 2019 at the age of 92. Doris was born in Lewisham London, England on June 21, 1927 to Alfred and Lillian Manser. She was the eldest of three children. Doris's early years were plagued by the war and moving to safe places as needed. Waterstock England was one of these places and where she met the love of her life, Philip G. Doring in 1944 while he was stationed overseas in WWII. After the war, Philip sent for Doris to marry. She arrived in Chicago, IL on December 1, 1946 and they were promptly married the next day on December 2, 1946. Doris spent many years as a farmer's wife in Appleton, MN before making her home of 61 years in Rochester, MN where she worked various jobs while raising her four children and ultimately retiring from Kellogg Jr. High School. Doris overcame many obstacles and lived every aspect of life with vigor and determination. She loved to cook, garden, can, knit, sew, travel, camp, read, keeping up with all that was happening in England and helping her husband with the daily crossword puzzle, but her main love was spending time with family, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and creating many wonderful memories with them. Doris is survived by her siblings, Ken Manser and Eileen Dawtry both of England; children, Claire Terese (Kirk) Koblitz of Rochester, MN, Brent Lee (Sandy) Doring of Waubon, MN, Brenda Lynn Demirci of Toronto, Canada, and Philip Clyve Doring of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Lindsey, Heather, Jillian, Jon and Angela; and six great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip; granddaughter, Krista Koblitz; and an infant daughter. An open house and celebration of life will be held from 1-3 on Sunday September 22, 2019 at 3223 36th Ave NE Rochester, MN
