Doris Baier

Doris L. Baier, age 94, of Rochester, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Madonna Towers in Rochester. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 2018, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW. The visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2018, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice or Madonna Summit of Byron. Doris Luella Hammel was born on October 7, 1924 in Viola Township, MN to Carl and Rose Hammel. She graduated from Eyota High School. In November of 1942 she married the love of her life, Laverne Baier. She worked at Woolworth's in Rochester and at the Mayo Clinic for 15 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, birds, knitting, going for car rides and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Terry (Linda) Baier of Rochester, Bob (Jan) Baier of Rochester, Penny (Brad) Martin of Byron and Kim (Pete Czaplewski) Stillman of Kasson; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and two brothers, Leo (Eunice) Hammel of Rochester; David (Gladys) Hammel of Elba, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters and two brothers. The family would like to especially thank the people who shared in her journey over the past two years.
