Donovan Lee Hase, age 53, of Rochester, Minnesota died on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester following a 30 day stay in the ICU due to a motorcycle accident. The family wishes to thank all of the staff on Mary Brigh floor 7 who took amazing care of Donovan and his family. Donovan was born on June 23, 1969 in Red Wing, Minnesota to Delores and Howard Hase and attended Red Wing schools. Donovan was a mischievous kid and kept his parents on their toes. Donovan loved spending time with his father in the garage learning how to fix small engines. He would seek out his mother's advice as she was his confidante. Donovan was creative, well-organized, and a problem-solver. Donovan loved it when people would bring him their lawnmowers, weed-whips, snow blowers, scooters, and anything with a small engine for repair. As an adult, he moved to Lake City and started working at Crenlo in Rochester, where he started out as a welder, eventually moved into a supervisor position, and was still employed by Crenlo 28 years later. Donovan was blessed with three girls from his first marriage, Kaila Berg, Kelsey Berg, and Angel Hase. He moved to Rochester in 2014 and began dating Lalania Wiste. Donovan and Lalania spent the past eight years traveling, camping, enjoying concerts, riding motorcycles, and building a life together. They married on May 14, 2022 in Oronoco, Minnesota. Donovan was excited to welcome three additional step-children into his life, Brittany Wiste, Zachary Wiste, Nicholas Wiste, and four grandchildren. Donovan adopted his dog, Max, three years ago which helped get him through the pandemic, a broken leg injury, and the passing of his parents. Max fit in well with the Hase family and was loved unconditionally by Donovan. Donovan is survived by his wife, Lalania Hase, his children (Kaila Berg, Kelsey Berg, Angel Hase, Brittany Wiste, Zachary Wiste, Nicholas Wiste), his sister Dawn Knudsen and his brother Don Hase. He was preceded in death by his parents. Donovan's tinkering in his garage, his love of ice cream and pizza, and his never-ending candy jar will be sorely missed by all. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 1:00 - 4:00pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester, MN.
