KASSON -Donna May Jorgenson, 81, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 9, 2014.She had been ill with cancer the past five months. Donna was born in Mantorville Township on November 2, 1932 to Harry and Blanche (Olive) Jorgenson.She attended rural school and later went on to attend Grand Rapids Bible College in Grand Rapids, MI.While there, she worked at Butterworth Hospital before returning to the Kasson area, where she worked as a caregiver and cleaned homes. Donna enjoyed traveling, gathering with family and friends, reading, and putting puzzles together. Donna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kasson, where she taught Sunday School for many years, served as a Deaconess, participated in the women's missionary ministry, and worked in the AWANA children's program.She also volunteered as a counselor and a cook at Bass Lake Camp.Donna was active in the Rochester Area Christian Women and the Kasson Area Ladies Bible Study. Donna is survived by a brother, Leonard Jorgenson; two sisters, Pearl (LeRoy) Witzel, and Shirley Jorgenson; sister-in-law, Elaine Jorgenson, all of Kasson; and many nieces and nephews. Donna is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Lester and Lawrence; a sister, Minnie; and sister-in-laws, Betty and Mary. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at First Baptist Church, 304 4th St. NW in Kasson, with Pastor John Todor and Pastor Dale Phelps co-officiating.Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the church and also an hour prior to the service on Saturday.Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the First Baptist Church or The Bass Lake Camp.
