Donna M. Whipple

Memorial services for Donna M. Whipple will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Oronoco cemetery. Donna, age 85, a long time resident of Rochester retired Mayo Clinic Clerical worker, died Monday, October 31, 2016 at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester. Born July 11, 1931, in Oronoco, then moved to rural Rochester as a child, where she grew up. As an adult she moved into the city of Rochester. On September 10, 1948 she married Virgil L. Whipple in Cresco, Iowa. He was employed by retired from the former Peoples Natural Gas Company of Rochester, and preceded her in death December 13, 2006. Virg Donna lived in Byron, MN several years raising two children, then moved back to Rochester in 1966 had lived here since. Donna enjoyed motorcycling, horseback riding, fishing. She was a member of the Motormaids, a womens motorcycle club. Survivors include one son, Robert W. (Lynn ) Whipple of Grand Junction, CO; one daughter, Diane R. Whipple of Hudson, WI; 3 grandsons; 4 great grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Hall of Zumbrota, MN; 1 brother, Wilbur Lockman of CA. Donnas favorite color was purple.
