Donna Lou Porath

Donna L. Porath, 90, of Rochester, MN died Monday, July 14, 2014 at Madonna Towers with her family by her side. Donna Lou Weeks was born in Pine island, MN on December 2, 1923 to Miles and Pearl (McGowan) Weeks .Donna graduated from Pine Island High School in 1945.She attended the Kahler School of Nursing and graduated from the University Of Minnesota Nursing School in 1952.She was a nurse in the Rochester Public Schools and later became the Assistant Director of the Rochester Public Health Department.Donna married Robert Porath on November 27, 1963. Donna was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, John Marshall High School Faculty Wives and University of Minnesota Alumni Association. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and spending time at the cabin on Lake Mille Lacs. Donna is survived by two children, Don (Barb) Porath and Pam Pickett of Rochester, MN; and a sister, Phyllis Walter of Wanamingo, MN .She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Allen Weeks; one nephew; one niece and her husband, Robert. There will be a funeral service on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Madonna Towers Chapel.Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimers Association.
